Pressurization system

A pressurization system is intended to keep protected escape routes of a building clear of smoke by means of introducing sufficient fresh air to maintain a positive pressure in protected escape routes against accommodation area.

Protected routes may include staircases, lobbies and in some cases, the corridor. Pressurization system may be omitted if there is sufficient provision of natural ventilation in protected escape routes in accordance to the Uniform Building By-laws requirements and/or other acceptable standards.
