Fire Risk Assessment and Management

Fire risks assessment is a process in estimation of the level of risk posed by a fire hazard through the assessment of the likelihood of harm and possibility of occurrence, firstly to people, but also to property and business continuity.

During a fire risk assessment questions are posed on various areas of hazard and the answers recorded as satisfactory, not known or unsatisfactory. Fire risks assessment study goes beyond building regulations, code and standards compliance. It can be a study on a potential project or normally are conducted for buildings setups after completion and occupied.

Basing on the findings, area of the premises can be designated as Low Risks, High Risks or Very High Risks. The tabulation of risks category is the sum of Probability of Occurrence verses Consequences. The degree of the impact of Consequences will determine the risks category.

Fire risks assessment will normally comes with proposed mitigation measures to bring the risks to acceptable level.
