Fire rated dry wall construction are made up of light weight structure with layer/layers of non-combustible boards (at time with insulation infills) to form a compartment to prevent fire propagation.
It has gain popularity due to its light weight and speedy installation as compared to wet construction i.e brick or cement block constructions. Fire rated dry wall system needs to properly install to be effective. All component material specifications also needs to be same as the prototype tested in the laboratory for it to function.
